Electronic locks

McNaughtans electronic locks open toolboxes, lockers and doors on trucks, trailers and vehicle bodies with an electric signal, without a key or as well as one. The range includes whale tail locks, compression latches with central locking, pop-up locks, Fastlock and Selectlok locks, at 6, 12 and 24 V, plus spare parts for each system: control boxes, remotes, cables and covers.

How to choose an electronic lock

Start with the voltage of the vehicle or equipment: 12 V, 24 V or both. Then decide whether you want it electronic only or with an emergency key, and whether it will be part of central locking with other locks. Finally, choose the handle type and finish for where it will be fitted.

  • Check the operating voltage: 6, 12 or 24 V.
  • Decide whether you also need key opening.
  • For several locks, look for a system with a shared control box or remote.
  • Choose the handle and finish for the door and environment.

Frequently asked questions

Can they be opened with a key if the power fails?

Models with a cylinder or key, such as the Euro-cylinder locks or the Fastlock, can also be opened by hand. Each product page says so.

Can I convert a manual lock to an electronic one?

In the GFCL2200 series, yes: the same compression lock comes manual or with a 12/24 V electric actuator and cover.
